RECOM Fire Solutions is delivering Passive Fire Protection across around 50 occupied residential and assisted living facilities for Sanctuary Housing Group. The programme spans supported living, social housing blocks and care homes across the Midlands and South-West, focused on keeping homes safe and compliant.
Project Details:
We were appointed on a Risk Assessment basis to survey, define the scope and price the required works for each building. Programmes and methodologies were tailored to each site’s type, users, restrictions and limitations to ensure the right solution for the environment.
Our scope covers compartmentation, fire door and fire surveys, fire stopping and remedial works to penetrations and seals, and fire door repairs and replacements. All issues are tracked and recorded in Bolster Systems, giving full visibility to the SHG team.
What we did differently
Delivering Passive Fire Protection in live residential buildings means putting residents at the centre of the programme. Many sites include vulnerable tenants, so communication and accessibility are always a priority.
Each building has a dedicated Resident Liaison Officer who acts as the single point of contact. Information is provided in large print, braille, translated materials and other accessible formats to make sure every resident stays informed. Open days, drop-in sessions and a 24/7 emergency line give tenants ongoing reassurance and support.
On site, we coordinate with building management to plan noisier or more intrusive works at the least disruptive times. Workspaces are kept clean and safe, with daily checks carried out by the Site Supervisor. Programmes and methodologies are adapted for each building type, whether supported living, high-rise blocks or care homes, so works are delivered safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption.
